Anatomic Specimens Tracking Application
This is a web based tool for tracking cadaver donations, specimens made from these cadavers, and cadavers (and specimens) acquired from external (approved) sources at the University of Pittsburgh. This application will replace a paper-based system, streamlining the process.

Biomedical Master's Program (BMP)
iTarget, using AMP-UP, will support the admissions and student tracking aspects of the new Biomedical Master Program, a one-year program with the goal of better preparing baccalaureate degree students for successful application to medical school and simultaneously help to fill the short-fall in physicians expected during the next decade, as forecast by the AAMC.

Committee for Oversight of Research and Clinical Training Involving Decedents (CORID) Web Application
CORID is responsible for the review and approval of all proposed activities that require the use of human cadaveric material in order to provide a mechanism for institutional oversight of proposed activities to evaluate whether they are within ethical and societal norms; follow a process which considers the scientific or clinical merit of each proposed study or training activity; and, ensure that informed consent was appropriately secured. The CORID Web application allows investigators to complete and submit the application form online.

Department Mapping
The Department Mapping provides a centralized source for department information for Health Sciences applications. The Department Mapping allows applications such as iGrants, HSPeople Plus, and INSITE to maintain a consistent model of the University structure, and to share department identifiers (making reporting across applications possible).

Disaster Recovery Plan
This plan is iTarget’s collection of processes, policies and procedures to restore operations critical to the resumption of business in the case of natural or other disasters. It also includes plans for coping with “lesser issues”, such as the unexpected or sudden loss of telecommunications, power, and network access.

Graduate Studies Office (including OASIS)
The Graduate Studies Office (GSO) administers the following academic degree-granting programs: Interdisciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program (PhD), Biomedical Informatics Program (PhD, MSc) and Clinical Research Training Program (MSc), Clinician Educator Training Program (PhD), Molecular Biophysics and Structural Biology Program (PhD), Computational Biology Program (PhD), and Program in Integrative Molecular Biology (PhD). OASIS is the online admissions application used to admit to these programs.

Henry (Faculty Promotions)
Promotions of Faculty of the School of Medicine are processed by the Office of Faculty Affairs. It requires the review of the candidate’s portfolio by several committee members at different stages. This application automates the process, including collection and dissemination of supporting documents, committee recommendations, and process completion.

HSConnect (HSC)
HSConnect provides centralized login, user identity management, reporting, application integration, application security, access control management, to Health Sciences applications. Web applications using the advanced security include Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences (CCEHS), Computing Service and Software Development (CSSD), DLAR, and Research Compliance and Conduct Office (RCCO).

HSPeople Plus
This system provides a single view of all salary components of the Faculty of Health Sciences, as well as certain demographic information not available elsewhere on campus. The data involved consist of budgets and actual payments for University Salary Components (Base, Administrative, Supplemental, Incentives, Academic, Research), UPP, UDHS, and VA salary components. This system tracks compensation for all faculties in the Schools of the Health Sciences, and is a source system to iControl.

iControl
iControl is an executive information system, providing timely, accurate and integrated views of finances, research activities, space allocation, personnel and academics in the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences. The system consists of the development and continued enhancement of the Health Sciences Data Warehouse (HSDW), and the development of the HS Information Center, the reporting and visualization of the information. It relies upon the integration of internal and external systems/data, including systems developed for our information needs. The goal of iControl is to provide a decision support system for the Senior Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences Offices.

iGrants is the application for entering, editing and managing data for grants awarded to the Health Sciences. It also functions as the grant’s transactional database that is a source for iControl.

Incoming Documents Log (IDL)
The Incoming Documents Log is an application that provides tracking and reporting abilities for pre-Award Grants independent of whether they are activated or not. The application will capture metrics related to Grants proposals, related to both internal measures of productivity within the department and external measures such as success rates.

ISER is an educational management system, with functionality to make module publication by non-technical users possible. It offers a single point of access for Health Science-related online education, as there is significant overlap between clinical and research practitioners.

Medical Alumni Association (MAA)

The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) is responsible for issues relating to School of Medicine faculty. The Office oversees standing committee operations, payroll and human resources functions, faculty performance evaluation, endowed chairs and professorships; statistical reporting, and serves as a liaison to the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences, the Office of the Provost, the Office of the Chancellor, Office of Legal Counsel, the University of Pittsburgh Physicians, and UPMC.

Office of Student Affairs
The mission of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is to provide service and support to medical students to enhance their educational experience. Responsibilities include the student advising system, career counseling, enrichment programs, and supporting the process of residency application. This office is responsible for credentialing while attending school, as well as post graduation verification of requirements for licensing and admitting privileges. The office is responsible for assuring compliance with university and school policies. The office oversees some standing faculty committees, such as retention and promotions.

Online Faculty Profile
The Online Faculty Profile project will ensure that all departments in the Schools of the Health Sciences provide accurate and up-to-date information on faculty members. Academic Affairs will determine appropriate content, iTarget will provide templates and technology support for compliance, and will provide reporting to assist in auditing compliance.

This project automates the faculty publication notification process. The project includes an electronic filing mechanism, searchable catalog of uploaded publications, a printable form, an area to upload and store the manuscript and an email trigger to designated recipients, submitters and users for various stages of the publication notification.

The REACT website, when completed will serve as a central portal designed as a one stop shop where research administrators can access training, obtain information and access applications that support research administration.
